Filmmaking at UC Berkeley is moving to new levels of creative expression and intellectual exploration, with production courses now being offered in the Departments of Art Practice, Anthropology, Ethnic Studies, Film Studies, Journalism, and Theatre, Dance and Performance Studies. Rough-hewn and radical in true UC Berkeley spirit, this eclectic range of sophisticated and highly imaginative approaches to image-making by both undergraduate and graduate students-some of whom picked up a camera for the first time to make them-give us a glimpse of the future of filmmaking at UC Berkeley and beyond. Something exciting is happening on campus, and the student curators of these shows have recognized it. It's a new way of thinking and speaking. Check it out!

Programs were curated by UC Berkeley students Julien Guillemet, Elizabeth Johnson, Jungmin Lee, Alana Miller, Brittany Nickerson, Sang-hee Oh, August O'Mahoney, Jay Patumanoan, and Jennifer Siu, as part of an internship offered by UC Berkeley's Film Studies Department and PFA, under the guidance of Kathy Geritz, with the assistance of Jason Alley. Presented with support from the Theresa Hak Kyung Cha Endowment.
