Mitchell Leisen spent over ten years as a costume designer, art director and assistant to DeMille before he became one of Paramount's top contract directors in the thirties; his stylish productions include such recently revived films as Easy Living, Midnight, Remember the Night and Hold Back the Dawn. Our partial retrospective of Leisen's films includes eight more films by the least known of Paramount's “younger generation” of directors (Leisen, Sturges and Wilder), all presented in sparkling 35mm Nitrate prints.
