Higher Education: Mad Students And Nutty Professors

7/3/02 to 8/28/02

Academia thinks it's safe within those hallowed halls. But there's nothing more camp than a campus, nothing more delirious than serious schooling. Parodic but never pedagogical, Higher Education is an overtly independent study of college life, going back to the thirties and with quick courses in the four succeeding decades. Professorial pranks, student unrest, athletic antics, undergrad angst: it's all there in one summer-long cinematic symposium. Nine seminal evenings include tutorials on Phys. Ed. (The Swinging Cheerleaders), Ichthyology (Monster on the Campus), Public Speaking (Horse Feathers), Pharmacology (Blue Sunshine), and Poli. Sci. (Getting Straight). You won't get units for attending this series, but you'll get credits for curiosity.
