BAMPFA
Full: Jennif(f)er Tamayo
Programmed by Amara Tabor-Smith
Tamayo performs a new work, 0N MIGRANT R3FUSAL, using the voice, layered recordings, and amplification technologies to speak, sing, and scream back at the current discourses around the U.S. "immigration crisis" and imperial violence.
Jennif(f)er Tamayo is a queer, migrant, formerly undocumented poet, essayist, and performer. Her work has been published in Poetry, Hyperallergic, and Contemptorary, and she has staged performances at La MaMa, The Museum of Modern Art, The Wattis Institute, and The Brooklyn Museum.
Please note: Xandra Ibarra, originally scheduled for this date, is unable to perform. We hope to have her at BAMPFA in the near future.
