Ariana Schindler: anti-everything
Painter Abbott Thayer, the “father of camouflage,” commented that humans are the only species that thrives on visibility. Los Angeles artist Ariana Schindler takes visibility to a confrontational level with her subversive designs for the countercultural fashion brand Damage Group. Join Schindler for an online conversation about what drives her and why clothes are an effective means of provocation.
Schindler is concerned with contemporary aesthetics, personal expression, and critical analysis of the status quo. She utilizes her experience in the underground arts to bring experimental design to the mainstream. Her previous work includes creative direction, fashion design, illustration for artists and activists such as Pussy Riot and Lil Xan, and curation.
