Mellon Postdoctoral Curatorial Fellow at BAMPFA and curator of Master Traces, Transcultural Visions, explores the important role of narrative art in Buddhist teachings through an examination of the intricate Gandharan sculpture of Sakyamuni Buddha's Great Departure, as well as the vivid Tibetan, Japanese, and Chinese depictions of karmic judgement and consequences.
