Beth Krebs is an artist and educator with an MFA from Rutgers University. When not working on her own art projects, she can be found teaching school groups at the de Young Museum and adults at the San Francisco Art Institute.

Inspired by works of Zen calligraphy in Meditation in Motion, work from image to language and back again. Explore ways of drawing words to visually express their meaning and create fragments of poetry in response to works of art. Using drawing materials and translucent vellum, design a two-layer artwork that combines drawn text and image.

About Gallery + Studio
On the second Saturday of each month, Gallery + Studio connects art viewing with art making in ways that engage both young people and their grown-ups. Each two-part workshop integrates an interactive gallery tour with a related art project, and lasts about an hour and a half. Sign up on site beginning fifteen minutes before the session you wish to attend. Space is limited to twelve kids per session; please arrive promptly to sign up.
