Film historian and archivist William K. Everson begins his semiannual presentation of rare and rediscovered films this evening. Mr. Everson is the author of over sixteen books, including American Silent Film, Love in the Film, The Detective in Film, and Classics of the Horror Film. A co-director of the Telluride Film Festival and a consultant to many film festivals and archives throughout the world, he also teaches film at New York University and The New School. Film buffs and scholars around the world are indebted to Mr. Everson not only for his tireless efforts at rescuing films which would otherwise have disappeared, but for the enthusiasm and humor with which he shares both the films and his vast knowledge of cinema history with his audience.
